IFMA's Advocacy Forum 2026 - September 15-16 in Washington D.C.

Aug. 6, 2026

IFMA's Advocacy Forum 2026, Sept. 15-16 in Washington, D.C.

Facility managers bring a practical perspective to issues involving buildings, infrastructure, workplace safety and workforce development. The non-partisan Advocacy Forum is an opportunity to bring that expertise directly to policymakers and help ensure the FM profession is part of the conversation.

No previous advocacy experience? No problem. If you're passionate about the profession and willing to share your expertise, you're ready to participate.

The program will address issues affecting the profession, including indoor air quality, federal building maintenance and funding, workforce development, terrorism risk insurance and federal appropriations.

Chapter participation is especially important. A strong showing from IFMA chapters demonstrates that facility management professionals are informed, engaged and ready to contribute meaningful expertise to public policy discussions.

I believe those of us who understand how facilities actually operate have an important responsibility to share our knowledge with those shaping public policy. I hope you’ll consider attending and encouraging others from your chapter to join you. Bringing a small chapter delegation is a great way to strengthen your local advocacy efforts while helping elevate the voice of FM nationally.

I hope to see you and your chapter in Washington.

Best,
